Mahé

Mahé, home to the capital Victoria and to the international airport is the most developed and largest island. It is the cultural and economic hub of the Seychelles islands, a delight to drive around and find your own corner when it comes to exploration and adventure. It is an international gateway to this sun-soaked archipelago, measuring 28km long by 8km wide.

Around 90% of the Seychelles’ population lives on Mahé; a destination with its idyllic beauty offers its visitors both a quintessential tropical beach vacation as well as a taste of local Creole culture and cuisine. Its terrain is defined by white-sandy beaches such as the most popular resort area of Beau Vallon in the north-west of the island, several kilometres long and incredibly beautiful and the granite peaks of the rain forested Morne Seychellois.

The town of Victoria makes for a great day trip, with a botanical garden, a market selling locally prepared spices, fresh tropical fruits and souvenirs. The north of the island boasts one of the longest beaches on the island, Beau Vallon and the south of Mahé is also home to several plantation houses and gardens.

A day excursion to Mahé will be dedicated only to the island. It cannot be combined with other destinations.
